Flavio Valeri is Chairman of Lazard in Italy.
Additionally he’s Chairman of Gardant, one of the main Credit Management companies in Italy and President of QuattroR sgr, specialized in the relaunch of Italian companies.
Prior to assuming the above roles, he was:
- Chief Executive Officer of Deutsche Bank from July 2008 to August 2020. During his tenure, he was also Member of the EMEA Executive Commitee.
- Member of the Executive Commitee of ABI, Italian Banking Association, from 2010 to 2020. In the period 2014-2016 and 2018-2020 he was appointed Deputy Chairman.
- Member of the Executive Commitee of AHK Italien from 2013 to 2019. From 2016 to 2019 he also served as Deputy Chairman.
- From 2001 to 2008 Flavio was at Merrill Lynch in London and Frankfurt, where he acted as Member of EMEA Executive Commitee from 2004 to 2008 and Head of Investment Banking for Germany, Austria and Switzerland from 2006 to 2008. Previously, he was Head of Equity Capital Markets EMEA, Head of Corporate Markets and Financing EMEA and Head of Southern European Equity Capital Markets.
- From 1994 to 2001, he worked at Deutsche Bank in London and Frankfurt, initially as Executive Assistant of Dr. Ronaldo Schmitz, Member of the Vorstand di Deutsche Bank AG and later as Managing Director of the Equity Capital Markets Department.
- Senior Consultant of Boston Consulting Group in Milan from 1992 to 1994, with focus on the Financial Institutions and the Consumer Goods sectors.
- From 1988 to 1990, Financial Analyst in the Corporate Finance department at Morgan Stanley, in London.
He has been the Non-executive Director at San Raffaele Hospital (2021-2022) and currently at Zurich Bank Italia (since 2022). Moreover, he held the position as Chairman of the Advisory Board of Dea Capital (2021-2023) and currently as Senior Advisor for Boston Consulting Group (since 2021).
In the non profit sector, Flavio Valeri is Board Member and Chairman of the Nomination Commitee of San Patrignano Foundation, and Member of the Executive Commitee at FAI – Fondo Ambiente Italiano.
Flavio Valeri was awarded a Master in Business Administration (“MBA”) from Harvard Business School, Boston (USA) in 1992 and graduated magna cum laude in Mechanical Engineering in 1988 from University of Rome La Sapienza (Italy).
